Activated Barley
About Activated Barley
Activated Barley was originated by the Swedish inventor Owe Forsberg who invented the product and the OFO method in the early 90th century. He sold the product Activated Barley in 2002 to the Swedish company Nutri Tech Int. AB, for which he also worked as a development manager from 2002 to 2004.
In 2010, he bought back the patent rights to the product and started the production and sales to various distributors all over the world through his own company Proplant AS which was established in 2008.
Activated Barley is sprouted, dried and powdered barley produced in a carefully controlled process. When barley sprouts, it quickly becomes the consistency of jelly. Before the development of Activated Barley, there was no possibility to produce sprouted barley powder.
Owe Forsberg developed the so-called OFO method for precise control of the germination process that ends with drying at exactly the stage when the construction has not yet become jelly-like. Barley carefully wiped with a water content of 14% and then pulverized. The OFO method is patented.
The powder dissolves easily in water or other liquid. The taste is pleasant and mild, so even the kids will like it. It can also be used to sprinkle on breakfast, in smoothies, added to breads, mm.
